The Statewide Electric Assistance Program (Statewide EAP) provides qualifying members of the New Hampshire Electric Cooperative with a discount on their monthly electric bill. The discount is based on the household gross income and the type of space heating used in the home.
Your Co-op understands that our members sometimes need some help paying their electric bill. We are committed to assisting our members in need through the Statewide EAP.
The New Hampshire Legislature requires funding for this statewide program as part of electric utility deregulation. Co-op members, and electric ratepayers throughout the state, support the Statewide EAP through the System Benefits Charge portion of their electric bill.
The New Hampshire Electric Co-op, the State's only nonprofit, member-owned electric utility, is working with the six Community Action Agencies (CAAs) located throughout the state to qualify and enroll eligible electric Co-op members in the Statewide EAP. Your CAA will notify the Co-op when you are enrolled in the program and apply the discount on your electric bill. The Co-op serves 70,000 members in 115 communities throughout New Hampshire.
